So of course, Jack has been to UT campus more than a few times but never before has he been allowed to roam campus freely with one adult whose undivided attention is focused on Jack all day. So the day after Valentine's Day, Jack and I headed to campus so that I could finally use the UT Co-Op gift card I got from the Knights for Christmas. And after our shopping, we crossed Guadalupe and entered the wonderful world of UT so Jack could explore. He had so much fun, we spent almost 3 hours just walking around.
Here he is making good use of these 'slides' that always seemed so pointless to me as a student, but have a whole new meaning and purpose to me as a parent. He spent at least 20 minutes here, sliding.

Oh and this was something new, found this Burnt Orange version of Bevo in what used to be the Co-Op parking lot but is now a basketball court.

Aligned with Greatness.
I love this- the UT Tower, this statue of Washington and the State Capitol Building are all aligned perfectly and from the front doors of the Tower, you can see Washington looking over the Capitol Building from Campus. So from Jack's point of view in this pic, he's gazing down at the Capitol Building as well, kinda cool.

A very sweet older lady saw me taking pics of Jack and offered to take a pic of both of us in front of our favorite Trevi-like fountain which is just steps away from the Six Pack. The Six Pack is the oldest group of buildings on campus and is also where I took all my wonderful Italian classes, so the location of this Trevi-like fountain always had special meaning to me as a student. I used to leave my Italian classes and imagine for a moment that I was in Rome as I passed this fountain. I was so glad to get a shot of both of us in front of it. However, it took the nice older lady a good while to work up the nerve to press the capture button on the camera and leave it to Jack to pick his nose at that exact moment. Haha!

I dunno, we just liked this guy.

For all you UT formers, this should look pretty familiar. This shot was taken right out side the UGL (Undergraduate Library) where all the crazy hippies always stand fighting the good fight, so Jack was doing a little of his own "Speaking Out"!
Burnt Orange Flowers and a Statue which represents the passing of the torch of knowledge from Professor to Student. (Thanks, Michelle [and her art history prof] for clarification on at least one of the strange UT art pieces.)
Here we are just outside Jester East dorms. I told Jack this was where Mom and Dad lived freshman year and he is in the middle of questioning, "You lived here and Dad lived here and when it rained you got all wet? That's crazy Mom!" in this shot. Haha, guess I should have clarified that we lived inside the building.
Haha, we stopped by the Pike house (Kyle's Frat house) on our way home because it's just not a complete trip to UT without a stop at the Pike House. And I don't know what Jack's expression here is all about but it fits.
Found a Silver Spurs trailer (which transports Bevo from ranch to Football game) outside the Pike House. Maybe one day we'll be showing this shot to Jack and his Silver Spurs buddies? Maybe!
