Natural

"Are you taking pictures of me?!"
Acting Natural.
Scott was schooling me on how to act natural for the camera, looks like he's saying
"Fah-get about that camera, Mom!"
He's a natural at acting natural. And he's so darn cute.
We might have a little model on our hands.

Sweet Scott

He loved that turtle.

We Love the Park!

We arrived at the park and about 2.2 seconds later, Jack had spotted this little girl and made his move:
"Hi, you wanna pay wif me? My name's Jack Shea Knight. Whas yer name? You got a shovel, oh dat's a coo shovel, an a basket too? Can I see dat? Ok, yeah, yet's pay, you wanna pay wif me right? Oh yeah, it's gonna be soooo fun!" Mr. Personality.
Later though, he found some older boys to play with and ended up in a time out for throwing rocks. He has his ups and his downs.
Whoa! Too High, Jack!
I know, I'm not a very cool Mom. I wouldn't let Jack jump from the top, the second step up was as high as I could stomach.
But Jack is ever so resourceful. Since he couldn't jump with the big boys, he told the boys to jump over him as he crouched down at a safer level.

Having a Swingin Time on the Swings

It doesn't take much for the little guy, he's a laughing fool!

Happy Halloween!!

Scotty was an adorable little Sock Monkey, just the cutest little monkey baby ever!
And Jack was a horrifying Swamp Monster!
The Sock Monkey somehow managed to capture himself a Swamp Monster Foot.
As much as Scotty really wanted to trick or treat, he ended up conking out at Michelle's house with Kyle and Chris while Michelle and I took Jack door to door. Jack had a blast and brought home a huge bag of quality candy!
It was a pretty successful Halloween!

Caught Ya!... sorta

Here they are on the morning of Halloween, I was trying to sneak up on them to capture some more one on one playtime but Scotty can sense my presence from a mile away, I can't sneak up on this kid.
"I see you Mom, what are you doing?"
Jack's teaching Scott everything he knows.

Almost Halloween...

Not sure what they're both so intrigued with here, but this documents their shocking ability to play together even though Scott is barely 8 mos. old. I can't tell you how much fun they are already having together, Jack really needed a lil bro.
I had to alter Jack's Halloween Costume a bit so he was allowed to wear just the feet while I worked on the rest of it. But you can see, all it takes is the feet to get him into character.

Here's Jack's version of the Trick or Treat Song, pretty funny.

Smell my feet

Soccer Time with the Neighbor Kids

The family that lives next door to us has 3 kids not too much older than Jack, so a few nights a week we get a knock on the door and are greeted with "Can Jack come out and play" begged in unison by all three. They're really sweet kids and are actually teaching Jack some great soccer skills. Here they are taking advantage of every last second of daylight.
His most useful skill to date: How to Fall and Get Right Back Up Again!
Sometimes he gets a little help.
Haha, he actually scored a legitimate goal that night though! Big shoes and all!
(Those shoes were hand me downs that we picked up in Houston and even though they're still about 8 sizes too big, he insisted on wearing them.)
Scott and I make up the all important Cheering Section.

Houston Trip

We decided to make an impromptu trip to Houston a few weeks ago and had a great time. Here's myself and Scott during the UT game on Saturday which we watched at Mike and Connie's house with Kyle's roommate from college, Davy and his girlfriend Crystal. Unfortunately though, this was the only pic I took from that day, a bit narcissistic of me, huh?
Here's Jack on Sunday Morning, its pretty rare these days to catch him on film not making a face like this. We take what we can get.And of course, little Scotty, perplexed as always but oh so cute.

Quality Time

Hanging out in the backyard after it warmed up a bit on Saturday.
Just looking at leaves with Dad.
I'm going to be shocked if both these boys don't turn out to be scientists just like their dad because the three of them could stare at a leaf or a bug for hours on end and be completely enthralled with the specimen the entire time.
Jack's pleading with Scott here, "Don't get BaaBaas on my new coloring book, Scotty!"
BaaBaas = Slobber
No one is quite sure why or how that word came to mean slobber but after a long investigation we're certain of this translation.
That's the face of a Man with a Plan... a BaaBaas plan.

Austin Heart Walk 2008

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my American Heart Association Heart Walk Fundraiser! Here's a couple shots from the walk which I took both Jack and Scott to very early on a very cold Saturday Morning. I strapped Scott to me in the Baby Bjorn Carrier and pulled Jack in his red wagon the whole 3mile walk, whew!

It took both boys a while to wake up that morning, these shots were taken right before we got going on the walk, neither look very happy do they?
After the walk, Jack spent almost an entire half an hour in this bouncey thing. We literally had to drag him out of it, he had a blast.
